In our on-going push to get support for the Ariel Atom and show just how badly we Australians want, no NEED to get our hands on this awesome machine, we've setup a Facebook page. We'd encourage everyone (tell all your friends, family, contacts, strangers) to search for "Ariel Atom Australia" (or visit http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=36590520832) and become a member, write about how badly you want to get one and generally share how badly Australians want to get our hands on these.
We've also got some other plans lined up to help push things along and will send updates to all members as they come to light so you can all be involved in pushing this very worthwhile cause.

500BHP Ariel Atom in - are you serious?
Well it seems like the team at Ariel are and they're currently working on producing this beast with a 2.4L V8, and with it still likely to weigh in around 500kg, the power to weight ratio is out-of-this-world.
So how much would you expect to pay for this beast & when can you get your hands on one? Well after just hanging up the phone from the Ariel office in the UK, the word from them is around 100,000 pounds sterling which is around $218,000AUD before taking into account import costs, taxes etc. With the compliancing process for the Ariel Atom 2 still yet to be completed, will we ever see one of these on our shores? Don't hold your breath, but isn't it still nice to dream?

The Ariel Atom in Australia? Tell me about it!
Yep, the time for action is definitely now and if you're an Atom fan based in Australia, we've got a plan and we want you to be involved.
Now everyone's best friend, Jeremy Clarkson, had a chance to take the Ariel Atom out for a spin a LONG TIME AGO and being that Australia is obviously the last country to get lots of good stuff (iphone anyone?) you'd have to expect that getting the Atom to Australia is a low priority to everyone living outside Australia, but that's obviously not the case for you (and us). This desire has been simmering since 2005 (yep, that's a long time to see no results) and we just can't contain it anymore so it's time to do something about it!
Short of being rude, we're doing all we can to get further information regarding the Atom, the possibility of getting it to Australia and on the roads, because like you, we just can't keep waiting, so here's what we're planning to:
To support our plans, we want EVERY SINGLE VISITOR TO THIS SITE to add a comment to this post to show your support for getting the Atom to Australia. Getting a good idea of how much demand there actually is in Australia will hopefully show that we're serious about getting the Atom here. So post a comment, tell us how badly you want it and that WE DESERVE TO SEE THE ATOM IN AUSTRALIA!
